360 ACES — thinking outside the map Exporter of record

Buy and sell in a
country where you
have no company

Food sold in the European Union must carry the name and address of an operator established in the EU. Great Britain requires a UK address. That single line of small print stops most manufacturers before they start.

We become the supplier

Our British, European and American entities can appear on your label as the food business operator responsible for placing the product on that market, and can act as importer of record on the way in. You reach the customer without incorporating a company, renting an office or employing anyone in that country.

Being named on a label carries real responsibility, so we take it seriously and we do not take it on blind. The product has to pass the same checks we apply to any consignment: eligible category, approved origin establishment, ingredient and allergen declarations that stand up, and specifications we can see.

This is a contracted arrangement with defined obligations on both sides, not a mailing address. Terms are agreed in writing before any label carries our name.

Labelling is not translation

A translator can render your ingredient list into another language. They cannot make it legal. Compliance in a destination market means the whole declaration is rebuilt to that market's rules.

ElementWhat has to change
AllergensEmphasised within the ingredient list in the way the market requires, against that market's own allergen list
Nutrition declarationMandatory nutrients, order, units and format set by the destination
QUIDPercentage declaration for ingredients named or pictured on the pack
Legal nameThe prescribed name for that food in that market, which is often not a translation of the original
OriginCountry of origin or place of provenance, mandatory for some categories
Dates and storageDate format, use-by against best-before, storage instructions after opening
Operator addressName and address of the responsible operator established in that market
LanguageAll mandatory particulars in a language easily understood in the country of sale

What we deliver

  • Compliance review of your existing label against the destination market
  • Rebuilt mandatory particulars, priced per SKU
  • Print-ready artwork, or a marked-up specification for your own designer
  • Multilingual versions where you sell into more than one market
  • Our entity named as responsible operator, where you have no local establishment

Where the product is already in a Tetra Pak or similar carton, artwork can often be printed to your own brand at the manufacturing plant rather than relabelled after import. That is cheaper and it looks better on shelf.
